Abrasive Wheels / Manual Handling One Day Course 12th November 2008 Venue to be advised Price guide £60.00 per person MANUAL HANDLING · Identify the relevant Legislation and Codes of Practices · Apply the correct techniques when lifting, moving or stacking difficult or heavy objects · State the injuries that may occur when not lifting safely and correctly Programme· Common injuries and lifting capacities· Current legislation and Codes of Practice· DVD “It’s your choice” Carry out the lift and lifting techniques ABRASIVE WHEELS - State the hazards associated with the use of abrasive wheels and the precautions necessary to overcome the stated hazards
- With reference to BSEN 12413 and BS ISO525 (marking of abrasive wheels) identify three different abrasive wheel codes and state their meaning in relation to the nature of abrasive, grain size, hardness and bone type
- State the approved method of storing and handling various abrasive wheels
- Demonstrate the approved method of inspection and testing various abrasive wheels
- From a working drawing of equipment state the function of all named parts
- Demonstrate, without error, the approved method of mounting an abrasive wheel on a portable machine

- Petrol, electric and air driven machines – hazards considerations and maintenance. Handling, examination and storage of abrasive wheels
