November 2024 is Lung Cancer Awareness Month!
Asbestos can be found in any building built or refurbished before the year 2000. Houses built in fifties, sixties and seventies are very likely to include asbestos.
According to the HSE's Asbestos and You campaign website 5000 people a year die from past exposure to asbestos, so they are urging tradespeople working in the construction industry to be aware of disturbing asbestos, especially when renovating and refurbishing properties built before the year 2000.
